Kingsgreen Caravan Park

Kingsgreen
Berrow
Nr. Malvern
Worcestershire
WR13 6AQ

Tel: 01531 650272

The site is near Ledbury with Tewkesbury being just a little further out. Gloucester, Cheltenham, Worcester, Hereford & Ross-on-Wye are a short drive away. The Malvern Hills are just a short drive away as well, on the way to Worcester, the view from the top is well worth seeing. The surrounding countryside is very picturesque and quiet. We found Kingsgreen Caravan Park to be well run, clean & tidy, level and quiet. The owners (Keith & Jill) are very friendly and helpful

Quite a few of the pitches were used for season customers, I would say around half in the two main fields. These pitches are hard standing with a gravel area allowing the owners to mow the grass around the pitches.  The touring areas of the site, mixed in with the season pitches, are level grass marked out with borders giving ample room for caravan, awning and car all side by side.  There are two main areas. The front field which contains the toilet/shower block, with all the normal facilities (Grey waste & toilet disposal, dish washing sinks, laundry room, drinking water and a very well equipped disabled facility with toilet/shower/hand basin all in one room) and the owners house incorporating reception.   The back field, where we were, is approx. the same size having the same general layout.   There is an overflow field beyond that with some electric hook-ups.   Kingsgreen also store caravans on-site.

The toilet/shower block had two showers in each, both controlled by token meters. The token cost 25p, but are well worth it as you get a long, hot shower. One slight moan here, the meters are mounted outside the cubicles, so it's necessary to get prepared before one drops ones token in. Having said that, the timer is set to take this into consideration.

The block is accessed by key (deposit £5.00), so discouraging parents from allowing kids to do what kids do. Cleaning was carried out twice daily, this and the fact that the toilet block was locked when not in use meant that it was always spotlessly clean, tidy and litter free.

The drainage on the site is good. We know, because it rained an awful lot the week we were there, We didn't see one area where water gathered.

The site was all originally a working farm, but part was converted over to a touring site 15 years ago. Sheep and cattle still form part of the whole business.

Shopping: Tesco's at Ledbury and Morrisons at Tewkesbury. Worcester has a large area of shops, not only your normal multi-nationals, but lots of independents as well (us fellas left after 2 hours. We'd had enough !)

Fishing:
There are two lakes at Kingsgreen, the upper and the lower. The upper lake has a variety of fish, offering carp up to 8-10 pound. The lower lake offered Tench (newly stock last year) and carp up to 20 pound. I didn't fish the upper lake, but it looked like it could be fun. The lower end of the lower lake was subject to some wind and tended to drift floats from right to left. I've learnt to fish 'the margins' for carp. I have also learnt to be a bit cunning, fishing with minimal tackle...floating a crust on 8lb line to a size 10 hook, that's all. I managed a 10lb carp on the first days fishing, but didn't better that all week !

Conclusions:
A very nice site. Good, clean and well run. The fishing was good and close to all areas.
Going back....you bet. Not sure when, but it's down for another visit.
